Abgoosht Recipe

Ingredients

  • One kg of meat (cut into cubes and boil)
  • Lentils 1 pound yogurt half a kilo (paint)
  • Three onions (chop medium size)
  • Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice.
  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric
  • Pepper and a half teaspoon of pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Cut the tandoori bread into two inch pieces
  • Two tablespoons of green coriander (finely chop)
  • Three tablespoons of cooking oil (for frying)

Preparation tips

  • Heat oil in a saucepan
  • Add onion and when golden brown add tomato, black pepper, turmeric and lentils.
  • Cook over low heat for 10 minutes and when the oil separates, remove the meat from the gravy and fry in a little oil.
  • Soak the bread crumbs in the gravy for a while
  • Put the breadcrumbs in a dish
  • Then mix the fried meat and yoghurt with some salt and sprinkle on top and sprinkle with green coriander.
