Former Pakistan captain to propose 4-nation T20 tournament comprising India, Pakistan, England and Australia at next ICC meeting
Lahore (Urdu Point Latest Newspaper. 11 January 2022) Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Rameez Raja to play regular international cricket against India in the next meeting of ICC consisting of India, Pakistan, England and Australia. Ready to propose annual four-nation series. According to Code Sports Australia, the former Pakistan captain will propose a four-nation T20 tournament.
Traditional rivals Pakistan and India are unable to play bilateral cricket due to deteriorating political conditions. The Pakistan team last played ODI and T20 series in India in 2012-13. Under Najam Sethi’s rule, both the cricket boards had planned to play six series between 2015 and 2023 but it did not happen.
Pakistan and India have only played in ICC and Asian Cricket Council tournaments since 2013.
On the other hand, Rameez Raja told foreign media that there are high expectations in Pakistan before the tour of Australia and he is happy with the recent comments of Pakistani-born Australian batsman Usman Khawaja as he privately travels to Pakistan with his teammates. Insist on doing Australia is scheduled to visit Pakistan in early March for three Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20 International. Cricket Australia is committed to this tour. This will be Australia’s first visit to Pakistan since 1998.
