Tamatar Wale Karele Recipe


  • Bitter one kilo
  • Three tomatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger one inch piece
  • Two onions
  • Capsicum
  • A teaspoon of crushed red pepper
  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric
  • Half a teaspoon of crushed hot spices
  • Half a teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • Four tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  • A tablespoon of vinegar
  • A tablespoon of sugar
  • Four green chillies
  • Green coriander half a lump
  • Half a cup of cooking oil

Preparation tips

  • Peel a squash, grate it and cut it into small pieces. Add salt and spread.
  • After 15 to 20 minutes, wash thoroughly.
  • Remove by frying in cooking oil.
  • Heat the cooking oil in a pan and add finely chopped ginger and onion.
  • Add salt, red pepper, turmeric, hot spices, pepper, ketchup and vinegar and mix well.
  • Add a quarter cup of water and cook over low heat.
  • When the bitter gourd comes to a boil, add capsicum, green chillies and tomato slices.
  • Sprinkle with finely chopped green coriander and sugar and place on low heat for five to seven minutes.
  • Start with delicious boiled rice or chapatis, custom made with this unique recipe.
