Dubai (Urdu Point News Latest – 03 January 2022) The United Arab Emirates recorded above average rainfall in just 3 days at the start of the new year. According to the details, all the records of annual rainfall were broken in just 3 days after the start of the year 2022 in UAE. The Khaleej Times reports that since December 30, there have been record rains in various parts of the UAE, especially in many parts of Dubai.
The United Arab Emirates reported an average of 100 mm of rainfall per year, but some areas of Dubai received 141 mm of rainfall in just 3 days, above average. Many other Emirati areas received an average of 70 mm of rain in three days.
According to the report, Emirati experts also used cloud seeding technology due to which more than normal rainfall has been recorded during the last three days.
The report further said that continuous and torrential rains on one hand made the weather very cold and on the other hand the citizens also faced unexpected and severe difficulties. Record and torrential rains caused power outages in many areas, while rains caused roofs to drip and flooded homes. In this situation, instead of celebrating the beginning of the new year, a large number of citizens were busy fetching water from their homes. While the UAE Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for the citizens, the citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel and going to the coastal areas.
